About fish lees

We finished the process of oil lees compost manuring early in this month, although it was supposed to be finished within the last year. Now we’re going to manure the fish lees compost on tea fields. The compost was delivered tightly wrapped in a large saran wrap-like plastic, so as to protect it from accidentally falling down from a truck.(It was placed on a transport pallet while delivered.) Once the truck arrived at Iwamotoen, the driver moved the compost to the warehouse by a forklift truck. He laid the compost incredibly beautiful! I was so impressed with his great work.

The compost has a distinct smell because of its ingredients consisting of mainly fish lees and fish borns. However we use it every year in order to produce more delicious tea products.
