Today, we’ve started the process of putting black nets on the tea fields for the second-grade tea.
Black nets are easily be fanned by the wind.Besides, if black nets are fanned by the wind and rub tea leaves, tea sprouts get damaged and their color becomes black. The rule to solve this problem is very simple. Stretch black nets definitely straight over the tea fields without any slack. If we do so, black nets rarely be fanned by the wind. What about tea sprouts?Aren't they going to get damaged?Never mind.Because sprouts are soft, they never get damaged.
You can see some hollows in this picture.(→signs show) These are where black nets are pinched on tea trees by pegs. Usually the range is about a meter except windy days.On windy days, we use more pegs. We changed the color of pegs from red to white after the foreign matter contamination issue. We will start tea picking for the second-grade tea (the second tea picking)a week later.
