Blackout!

We had an unexpected blackout when we were engaged in making tea products. Based on the weather forecast, we thought there would be a blackout yesterday, therefore we postponed tea production process for a day in order to avoid it. Unfortunately, it happened today.

Although we had reconfirmed an emergency procedure, in case of an earthquake for example, before, we panicked because nobody knew when the light would come back and the blackout made our fear bigger and bigger. We asked ourselves "I should put out the fire, shouldn’t I?", "What else should we do?", "Are the tea leaves inside the machine fine?" For the time being, we put out the fire. In the next place, we asked an electronic company to help. A couple of minutes later, the light came back. However, it went off again and repeated the same thing. Fortunately, after 20 minutes, the electricity was completely restored, so we resumed the tea production.

In fact, tea factory doesn't have an emergency power, so we don't work on such bad weather days. It was absolutely a good opportunity for emergency training.
