Not so scary decorative "oni"ridge-end roof tile.
We finished plowing the soil after scattering fertilizer over a tea field this morning.
Next to the field we worked on today, an old house stood with a decorative ridge-end tole of a shape of "oni"on its roof, which made me feel excied.
Generally, the face of "oni" looks scary however this tile was different.
It had smile on its face.
This made me wonder if it was "Daikoku-sama" or "Ebisu-sama" or some sort.
It reminded me that houses in Belgium also had a sculpture at their front door.People use them as a charm to protect one from an evil spirit.
It perhaps is not a bad idea to have a smiling face attracting luck than a scary face driving away evils.
